What are some good decorating ideas for a wedding with a coffee/chocolate theme?
I was thinking of using coffee beans in glass candle holders and also a chocolate fountain, but that's about as far as I've gotten...
I was thinking a chocolate/coffee flavored cake for the grooms cake. My to be husband loves coffee and I work at a cafe, so I've been trying to brainstorm...
My girls will be wearing Espresso colored dresses and I will be incorporating blue or red (October wedding), so I was thinking some sort of berries and/or leaves...
Any decorating suggestions and if possible picture links would be so helpful!

- I can't think of decorative ideas, but consider renting an espresso machine for your wedding.
- coffee beans, or those brownish colored marble, that would probably look a tad bit more formal in vases or glasses at a wedding...but honestly, your idea is lovely as well.... i think its really beautiful how your incorprating brown into octorber, that fallish wedding look...i love it.... as far as the colors go:
girls in expresso, tables with brown coffee beans/marbles, chocolate foundu, the blue and/or red should be in the girls bouque, that would be really nice... also you can have the glass on each table, filled with those marbles i was telling you about, in fall colors, if you insist on blue and red thats fine, but fall colors in oct usually revolove more around brown, light brown, red, and orange.... you can have all those colors mixed marbles in the glass.... and those colors too will be in the bouque for the girls. blue and red will sort of just be OUT there.... but red, brown, orange, fallish colors, can be used sparningly and seperately, without looking out of place....
- The only thing I can think of is chocolate dipped strawberries like this:

- What fun. I would not use blue doesn't sound like it would go as well as a nice red. You could avoid colors and go with lighter browns and creams.
On the tables or cake table you could use Chocolate covered espresso beans instead of nuts and mints. There are also several places on the web for cool coffee favors (scoops, personalized individual servings, etc.). How about taking cool coffee cups or espresso cups and making your own candles to alternate on the tables. You could also have a coffee/espresso bar for guests.
Good luck.....great idea!!
- Love the idea for the coffee theme - awesome! My mom went to a wedding several months ago and the couple's last name was "Kona" - Kona coffee from Hawaii is well known so for party favors, they gave each person a Kona coffee blend, all individually wrapped nicely in ribbon. It was such a cool idea because it matched their name. Good luck!
- Hey! First congraulations. You must be very excited. Here are a couple ideas for decorating in both the receiption and the ceremony:
Ceremony
1) A paint aisle runner. I find the aisle runners in craft stores, etc are just junk! They are plastic tacky things. There are nice aisle runners for about $200.00. I'm assuming that's going to be abnoxious for you so, my suggestion is to go to the craft store and buy a strip of simple solid fabric on sale cheap. And paint your name and date on it. Make a "frame" of a design going around it. It will be the perfect centerpiece for your wedding!
2)Spray coffee flavor perfume on the wedding programs
The reception:
1) Coffee beans in the flower vase or candle holder.
2) You can have your reception site set up a table and call it a "coffee and candy buffet" This is a cool thing. It takes place of the favor and it give people something to do. You can buy, little bags, decorate them with your name and date, maybe a scroll and allow guests to select from gourmet coffees and candies. Or you can do just coffee candies and chocolate!
3)Make up a little flyer on some interesting facts about coffee and chocolate and put it on every table.
- You could buy funky coffee cups and use them for the centerpieces. You could put the berries and leaves into the coffee cups. As gifts you could have coffee cups printed and put chocolates into the cups with a sample of your favorite coffee. The candle holders with the coffee grounds is great, and they smell awesome! The chocolate fountain is great too. You could also have a Coffee table with urns of all types of different coffee, it would be good to put it on the table the chocolate fountain is on. You could have so much fun with this theme, it's making me hungry.
- Get lots of coffee candles. Also, see if you could find a small castle made up of chocolates... I saw one of those at this Chocolate store in london. It was beautiful. I think that would be great !
- Give everyone coffee mugs for your favors or do a chocolate buffet. For flowers, go with dark reds or oranges. You can always make espresso colored bows for the isles at the ceremony. A chocolate fountain is a must for this type of wedding :) Coffee smelling candles would be awesome. I love coffee smells.
