Is there any brand in the UK which makes sugar free cakes & chocolate?
I'm on a sugar free diet, and love cakes & chocolate........

- Thorntons does a diabetic range
- If there are, they will probably contain harmful sweeteners such as aspartame, or be high in fat instead. Best thing to do would be to make your own & sweeten with stevia.
- Thornton's do diabetic chocolate which is sugar free also canderal have their own brand of chocolate but haven't been able to find it in the shops. Not sure about cakes. You could have ago making your own cakes using sweeteners instead of sugar.
This Stevia stuff sounds interesting. I think might try that.
- Everything in the UK has sugar in it. All of you have sugar in your blood.
OHHHHHHHH Caruthers
- You could try carob bars from health shops. They quite nice.
Unfortunately I know how you feel Im cuttin out the rubbish too!
Good Luck
- There are diabetic ranges for chocolates and cakes nowadays but I've been told that they often have other things in them (sweeteners) that are not so good for you. Also, they tend to price them higher just because of the 'diabetic' label on them (my dad's a diabetic and this is what his doc has told him).
I don't know if you can get this stuff sugar free (and if so, they have other things in them which are not s good for you) so it's best to read the labels and go for things that are lower in sugar. Some chocolate actually has health benefits, you'll be glad to know I'm sure; dark chocolate is supposed to be the best option. - You could try looking at the shop's own brand of healthy living foods, I know Tesco@ and Asda@ both have a comprehensive range as I buy from them regularly. I too have a sweet tooth and I have been on a diet for 3 years and managed to lose 92 pounds now!
- I am a type 1 diabetic and I wouldn't touch the diabetic foods. The chemicals they use instead of sugar are dangerous.
If I fancy chocolate I buy Lindtt 85% cocoa chocolate. It has less than 10grams of sugar. Some people find it too bitter but you only need 2 squares to satisfy the chocolate urge.
There is one at 70% which is slightly sweeter. Enjoy a couple of squares after a meal.
- asda and thorntons
