How to make chocolate pound cake? I make a pound cake using the recipe on a box of cake. It was a white cake and i used vanilla pudding. Today I thought i might try making a chocolate pound cake. So I did everything the same only used chocolate pudding and a chocolate cake mix. The result was not a pound cake...It didn't taste anything like i expected it to make. Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cake Recipe? I am baking a cake for a birthday party, and they want a dark chocolate raspberry flavor. This cake is going to be molded, and cut, so I am going to use a sturdy, not crumbly cake recipe for a dark chocolate cake that I already have. Would putting a raspberry flavoring or a raspberry liquer in the cake mix make it turn out ok? Baking a Chocolate Cake? for the first time today, i tried making a chocolate cake from scratch. this is the recipe i used: 4 squares BAKER'S Unsweetened Baking Chocolate 1-3/4 cups sugar, divided 1/2 cup water 1-2/3 cups flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened 3 eggs 3/4 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla for some reason, when it was finished baking, it was this shade of really light brown and wasn't sweet at all. it was still good, i was expecting something more chocolate color with more chocolate taste. is there something i can add to the recipe or if anyone knows what i might have done wrong?
