How to make chocolate pound cake? I make a pound cake using the recipe on a box of cake. It was a white cake and i used vanilla pudding. Today I thought i might try making a chocolate pound cake. So I did everything the same only used chocolate pudding and a chocolate cake mix. The result was not a pound cake...It didn't taste anything like i expected it to make. How can I make a chocolate pound cake (using cake mix from a box) Thanks
Looking for lost chocolate pound cake recipe? When my grandmother was alive she made a chocolate pound cake that everybody loved. Now however the recipe is lost and we have tried to duplicate it but can't. This cake would only get better with age, it would get more moist and flavorful as it got older - though it rarely lasted too long. I am pretty sure it did not use Hersheys canned choc. syrup but other than that I am not sure. I am looking for recipes and when I see one that was like hers I believe I can recognize it as I watched her make it many times.
Does anyone have a good old-fashioned family recipe for chocolate pound cake they would part with? I want a tried and true recipe you have actually made, not something you found on the internet. I can do that. I need something that has been made and that comes out great. I am making this to take to a function with people I need to impress, and I don't have time to make a couple and see how it turns out. I need to be able to just make one that turns out sensational. I am an experienced cook, but don't make a lot of cakes, although I do make a good lemon pound cake (and yes, I 'm taking one of those already, I have been specifically asked for a chocolate as well). I would prefer a non-shortening recipe, but that isn't a must, and I would prefer one that uses chocolate instead of cocoa, but at this point the important part is that it is a tried and true favorite. Oh, I am also looking for something to make from scratch, not a doctored cake mix.
White cake with chocolate chips? I'm looking to make a dense white cake with chocolate chips for my daughter's birthday. Does anyone know of a good recipe? I'd like it to be similiar to a wedding cake....sort of a dense but not dry pound cake with the chips going throughout. Any help is much appreciated. Recipe for a cake called "Limelight Fudge"? This recipe was in an old Pillsbury Best of the Bake-Off recipe book in 1969, I believe. It was a very dark chocolate pound cake with a lime frosting. I have been trying to find the book this recipe was in but have had no success.

my crazy chocolate cake diet works odd...? Is this odd, but I have been dropping pounds a rate of 1-3lbs a week I am drinking slim fast for my first two meals then everynight with dinner I have a chocolate lava mini cake and no its' not diet. So it's a bit odd that being on a diet having non-diet like desert nightly I still continue to drop the pounds. What should I do?? help? My two dogs just found chocolate. I was out of the room to come back to find them licking the bowl, I don't know how much they consumed since I was only out of the room for about a minute. I think about 3-5 ounces. Both are boxers, one is 4 years old around 90 - 100 pounds and has gotten into a whole pale of brownies and nothing happaned but I am mostly worried about the younger one, he just turned 1, has a heart murmer and weights about 60 pounds, we just got him and I have no idea if he has ever consumed chocolate before. It was Betty Crocker Chocolate Cake Mix. Super Moist. It says that the frosting is dark chocolate but I don't believe that I used any of the frosting...Unles when you mix the eggs, and so on that it already has the dark chocolate in it. WHAT DO I DO? diet recipes? What are some good recipes for foods when I'm trying to lose 20 pounds (about 2-3 pounds a week for 2 months) . I cook very well but I can't stomach some of the foods that I see in health magazines. I'm not a picky eater but I LOVE carbs and whole wheat/ multigrain pasta and bread does not taste good to me lol. I also LOVE lots of flavor and spicey food. A friend told me spicey food is bad for you when you're on a diet, but I don't see the harm in it if I don't heartburn or anything. In fact, spicey food makes me drink more water, so it's a good thing, right? Furthermore, I have a sweet tooth so the very idea of chocolate cake makes my mouth water. Should I remove sweets from my life for the entire time I'm dieting and begin to eat them in moderation afterwards. OR can I have a little bit during the time I'm dieting? If so, is there a thing as a healthy chocolate cake? lol
Weight Watcher-ing~ success stories? I've been on Weight Watchers for a week now (yes, a VERY long time). I'm allowed 22 points a day (very short) and have lost four pounds (yea for me). This is HUGE for me as I have NO willpower. I hope to lose around 30 pounds. I was hoping that some of you can help keep me going with some stories. My main change is watching what I eat. I'm avoiding fast food like the plague and choose healthy snacks like fruits. I have an incredible sweet tooth and have found that the weight watchers cakes are quite tasty. I am allergic to nutrasweet and have an aversion to other things like Splenda so sugar-free isn't an option for me. Are there any paticular things that you all have found that have worked for you? I know that tomatoes, lemons, and greenbeans are free (great snacks) but what other items do you all use? Also, does anyone know the point value for boxed chocolate cake mix make with applesauce? Thanks so much!!!
Can't control my eating? I am 14 yeras old adn i just cant control my eating habits.. on some days i eat 3 melas a day.. other days ill eat about 6 small meals.. sometimes ill just eat a WHOLE bucnh of junk food.. Yesterday I just ate some crackers adn hot chocolate for break fast.. a yogurt with cheerios after about 3 hours of bycicling (i wanst trying to excerisce, i was just riding around town) and then i ate dinner... today though i ate breakfast.. tehn yogurt then a huge chunk of chocolate cake.. some stringed cheese (idk why) and some oetrh chocolates stuff.. Im nto at all hungry but tis like my mind cant help but to go to the kitchen and look for whatever tehre is and just eat it no matter how good or bad it tastes?? im 5'8 and weigh about 145-148 pounds?

I am overweight I used to weigh 230 pounds and i was obese but i lost alot of weight. I still have a decent amound of fat on me but i have some lose skin in my arms so i am trying to get some muscle to look ripped. I know i have to bring my body fat down though. Right now i life weights 3 times a week for about 45 mins a session, i work chest, triceps, bicepts, and forearms. I also swim 3 times a week and run 2 miles 3 times a week. Since I want to gain muscle I eat 2,000 calories a day but there is no junk food, no chips , candy, chocolate, cake, or any sugary refined foods, no white flour or bread. So all my calories are form healthy food. I drink a 400 calorie protein shake after i lift weights, 2 cups of milk and 2 servings of whey protein. I am young so the fat should come off easy i think. Do you think I can lose fat and gain muscle if I do this or is 2,000 calories too much? thanks

being healthy? Ok so I love chocolate and peanut butter, and breadsticks and all the other yummy fatning foods. I am trying to lose weight so it seems I crave these things even more. Im not too much over weight but i want to lose weight. So how can I get over my cravings so I can lose weight, or how can I lose weight while still eating my favorite foods. I know weight watchers has chocolate cake, and alfredo, and ice cream but it seems like weight watchers would take forever if following the points system. Has anyone ever done the weight watchers program, does it seem to really work? how long does it take to lose weight, like 3 pounds a week or what? or is there something else i can do that allows me to eat some sweet snacks. I do eat lots of fruits and veggies and i exercise, i just cant get over my cravings for the bad stuff. i dont gain weight but i can never lose, what should i try doing?
My obesity? I'm a married white male late 40's and I'm a fat obese slob. I try to look good for myself my wife, my gf and to no avail here I sit and ponder life and pile on the pounds. My wife says I look fat, my gf says I look grotesque and yet I ignore them stuffing German chocolate cake and kettle potato chips down my throat washing them all down with 64 oz sodas. Help, i regret eating too much today....? i'm on a diet to get a flat- looking belly and well it was going pretty well until i went to one of my cousin's parties ,it was her birthday and all so i wanted to just let free and not care what i eat for that day...well i ate a big piece of chocolate cake some chips and dip...and hehe 3 bananas!! which was like 30 minutes ago...i totally regret it...i justneed to lose like 5 pounds and my family members said that i looked much slimer..that means my diet its working and i do crunches at night time but what do i do to get rid of all i ate today!! i feel horribe...plz help....

Im sick of fruit for a snack! help!? I used to be 215 pounds, but cut my caloric intake to 2000 a day and i run about 1.5-2 miles about 4 days a week. Ive lost 20 pounds and now im down to 195. I am sick of snacking on fruit for snacks! I want something else, like chips, or maybe chocolate rice cakes? anything else please! any suggestions of something thats not loaded with sodium, fats, or sugars? thanks
Sachertorte? Years ago my mun had a marks and spencers cook book that i think was called cakes and gateux, in it was a recipe for sachertorte. It had 6 eggs in it and llike a pound of chocolate.
