"Hot Chocolate Cake" Recipe??? My late father had a this recipe. He had received it from a family member during the 70's and he made it occasionally. I would really like to find it. Someone must have one somewhere. It has also been called "Hot Chocolate Lava Cake". Chocolate Cake Recipe With Mayonnaise In Batter? My boyfriend HATES mayonnaise, and I am looking to trick him by using the old Hellman's recipe with mayonnaise in the cake mix. The mayonnaise is supposed to make the cake more moist. I know that you cannot taste the mayonnaise in the batter, but that fact that it's in the cake will totally make my boyfriend gag. ;-) So, I have a two part question: Has anyone ever tried this recipe? How do I make a cake more moist? I made a chocolate cake with mayonnaise a couple years ago and it was great, but I can't remember how much mayonnaise I used or if I subsituted the may for the oil. I think I used 1c mayo for each box mix, does this sound right? Do you substitute the mayo for oil or use both? Also is mayo only good in chocolate cake or can you use it with any kind, like marble. Looking for lost chocolate pound cake recipe? When my grandmother was alive she made a chocolate pound cake that everybody loved. Now however the recipe is lost and we have tried to duplicate it but can't. This cake would only get better with age, it would get more moist and flavorful as it got older - though it rarely lasted too long. I am pretty sure it did not use Hersheys canned choc. syrup but other than that I am not sure. I am looking for recipes and when I see one that was like hers I believe I can recognize it as I watched her make it many times.
